Copper Kills Microbes

The hospital of the future may end up looking like a French kitchen. They are famous for their copper clad pots and pans and it turns out that the preference is more than aethetic. Copper surfaces are natural, broad spectrum disinfectants (something that also explains why copper is critical to IUDs). Intensive care units that replaced conventional surfaces with copper clad ones reduced infections by 40%.
